A Chartered Loss Adjuster and Chartered Insurer Jonathan has over 35 years claims handling experience. He has dealt with claims in more than 50 countries and has worked with many of the world's largest corporations on their claims programmes. He has designed and implemented claims compensation schemes for governmental bodies and was Claims Director of the Financial Services Compensation scheme from 2007 to 2009.

After a lengthy career at executive level in the world’s largest claims adjusting firms, he joined SCOR in 2013 as head of claims in London. Jonathan is now Global Head of Claims for Business Solutions within the SCOR Global P& C.

Jonathan is past President of the London Business Interruption Association, past Treasurer of the Insurance Institute of London immediate past President of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters and President of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

He holds degrees in Biochemistry and Biochemical Engineering from Oxford and London Universities.  Hobbies include music and sailing in which he has been a member of the British Sailing team as well as a regular columnist for a leading magazine.

Dominic Clayden joined the MIB as Chief Executive in May 2018.  He has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years.

The MIB is at the heart of the fight against Uninsured driving, and manages claims related to Uninsured and Untraced driving.   The organisation also provides management services to other industry bodies, especially focused on data asset management.

Dominic joined MIB from QBE, where he most recently held the role of Group Chief Claims Officer.  He has also worked at Aviva as their Claims Director for its General Insurance business, and co-ordinated their claims best practice globally.

He has had a leading role in major negotiations in respect of personal injury reform in the UK and represented the Insurance industry at the Advisory Committee on Civil Costs.

He is involved with various Boards & Committees, and is also a Director of the Insurance Fraud Bureau.

Dominic was a qualified solicitor, has held legal positions with BKJ Lewis and Potter Butler & Lyons, and has been a member of the Association of Personal Injury lawyers.

David has over 30 years' experience in General Insurance, roles including Chief Commercial Underwriter at one of AXA's largest branches, Reinsurance Manager, Casualty Insurance Manager, before moving to claims in 2003. After leading AXA's Personal & Commercial Claims Teams, David returned to Underwriting as Managing Director, Underwriting, and now has a broader role reporting in to CEO Brendan McCafferty, as part of the newly recombined AXA general insurance businesses in the UK

He was heavily involved in the government and ABI responses to the ‘Liability Crisis' way back just after the Access to Justice Act, and continues his lobbying work as the insurance industry looks to remove unnecessary costs and delay from the current adversarial compensation process. He is an outspoken critic of Claims Farming, Credit Hire, High Legal Costs and exaggerated Whiplash Claims.

As well as operating at an Executive level within AXA Insurance, David is a Non Executive Director of AXA Assistance UK, Vice President of the CII and Chair of the CII Underwriting Faculty. He is Chair of the recently formed Autonomous Driving Insurance Group and RISCAuthority, was previously a member of the National Stakeholder Council for the Governments ‘Workplace Health Connect' initiative during its currency, and was a Director of Thatcham, the Insurance Industry Motor Vehicle Research Institute for four years.

He is a member of various AXA Group Boards and has represented the UK on Asbestos, Health, Pollution and Fraud issues. He speaks regularly at conferences and other events in the UK and Europe on a variety of subjects including most recently, improving customer service, flooding, climate change, Big Data & Driverless cars

David has also appeared on BBC Breakfast TV, Sky, Channel 4 and BBC News, as well as Radio 4's ‘Today' Programme, being interviewed on topics varying from Compensation Culture to Business Crime.

Jo is an experienced, passionate and forthright speaker on the critical nature of service and customer experience. She vividly highlights the link between employee engagement, customer service strategies and organisational performance.

Working across the public, private and voluntary sectors, Jo provides strategic advice to boardrooms to raise the standards of service across the UK, providing evidence of the connection between customer satisfaction and operational efficiency and profitability.

Jo joined The Institute as Chief Executive in 2009. Melissa Collett is Professional Standards Director at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), leading its professional standards, ethics and conduct activity as a united profession across insurance and financial planning. She is also responsible for the professional body’s legal affairs, risk management, disciplinary matters and governance. She is keen to raise awareness of best practice and drive ethical behaviour through engagement with the profession and external stakeholders.

Melissa has an extensive background in consumer and legal issues. She spent over a decade at the Financial Ombudsman Service, was a Director at Fairer Finance and sits as a Tribunal Judge. She is also qualified solicitor, specialising in insurance law at Hogan Lovells. She is a frequent speaker at conference and events, sits on judging panels, and is the author of numerous articles and publications on consumer law subjects.
